The Factivation!® Philosophy

OUR MISSION

We will simplify both the learning and teaching of Multiplication facts for students, teachers, and parents.

We will provide highly engaging, effective, simple-to-use resources to ensure mastery of Multiplication facts, while extending learning opportunities to include all aspects of Multiplication: the concept of Multiplication, key vocabulary, fact fluency, and application.

OUR BELIEF

We believe that mastery of Multiplication facts, as well as a thorough understanding of the concept of Multiplication, is an absolutely necessary and extremely crucial step in the development of Mathematically confident students.

We believe that, because of this, spending time on basic Multiplication facts IS a daily necessity for every developmentally-ready student.

Our Solution to Multiplication Problems

Factivation!® for Multiplication is the most brain-friendly method for teaching students the Multiplication facts (see comparison below). But, we don’t stop there: Factivation!® addresses all aspects of Multiplication, including the concept of Multiplication and fact fluency building!

MAKING MULTIPLICATION MEANINGFUL

MORE EFFECTIVE APPROACH
The traditional times table has intimidated and overwhelmed many students. Factivation!® for Multiplication uses a much more effective approach by condensing the Multiplication facts into logical, manageable groups that are simple for students to learn.

BRAIN-FRIENDLY STRATEGIES (See above!)
Factivation!® for Multiplication uses four brain-friendly strategies (RULE, TRICK, CHANT, and CONNECTION) to teach all of the Multiplication facts. The ongoing emphasis of the commutative property allows for fewer facts to be “taught”. Compare the colorful, condensed Factivation!® for Multiplication chart (above) to the Times Table (left).

MEANING AIDS MEMORY
When presented in isolation (or randomly with many other facts), the highlighted Multiplication facts in the "times tables" above can be a problem for many students. Without regular study, these facts will often go unmastered. The rote memorization of learning the Multiplication facts can be a very boring and laborious process for students. However, when MEANING is assigned to these facts, they become very simple for students to learn. These are the Multiplication facts that comprise the CHANT and CONNECTION groups of Factivation!® for Multiplication and are the favorites among students.
