ABOUT THIS LESSON

Lesson Nine: Final Facts is the last Factivation! lesson and the only one using the CONNECTION STRATEGY. (Color-Coding for Flipbooks & Posters= PINK)

Although 8X3 and 7X4 have been the source of frustration and difficulty for many students, when students connect these facts to prior knowledge, they become simple to understand and retain.

Students practice linking the Zeroes & Ones Multiplication facts to their Division counterparts as known multiplication facts are linked to equations with missing factors. The concept of the "missing factor" is then connected to the corresponding quotient.

Lesson 9 is the last lesson in the Factivation!® program. The three facts presented are 8X3, 4X7, & 4X4. Provide students with a concrete example of 4X7 (& 7X4) using the February 2009 calendar. Monitor progress using the Post-Assessment Tool. Revisit any needed lessons, if applicable, and re-test.

Suggestion: Keep student skills sharp using the 3-minute Fast Facts video from any lesson for the remainder of the school year. Watch the Lesson 8 video to review all chants.
