Get to Know the Four Factivation!® Strategies
Wondering how Factivation!® covers ALL Math facts so simply and efficiently? The answer is in the groupings! Facts are divided into small brain-friendly, strategically-similar groups. This is different than the traditional manner in which facts are often introduced: in numerical order (0’s, 1’s, 2’s, 3’s, 4’s etc.), 10 facts at a time, often using rote techniques. This method is both ineffective and often confidence-crushing. Our method provides strategy “hooks” for each fact set, allowing students to quickly build fact ACCURACY and then move into FLUENCY BUILDING with confidence. Here’s an example:
Lesson 6 (Multiplication/Division Program) teaches 7×6, 3×4, and 7×8 together because all are a part of the CHANT group. (A simple chant is taught for each of these facts that helps students easily recall their products. Some of the chants are similar so the above facts are grouped together for that reason.)
Only three facts per lesson? Yes, many of our lessons contain just three facts for students to master. This leads to many happy, confident students who feel they CAN master all Math facts. If you’re wondering how we can address all 100 facts with such focused lessons, feel free to use our clickable tables below. You’ll see that each fact leads you to a lesson where the fact is addressed, either directly, as a commutative counterpart, or through a “representative” (a fact that uses the same strategy to produce the product/sum). Happy exploring!
